This article is concentrated on a problem of teaching subject “Russian language and speech culture” and a requirement to language competence in high school. It is connected with disadvantages of school preparation as one can see in the results of the Russian State Exam. To do these disadvantages away and make students ready for effective communication are the urgent problems of native teaching.
